Much of the Lean Mindset is based on a profound discontent with the current situation. To do anything about it requires building a coalition and a momentum for change. It takes activists and agitators to help others see the problems and opportunities.
For a long time, I’ve talked about Agile also being as much a political movement as anything else that seeks to profoundly restructure working social organisations to enable better work to happen. One that requires a Permanent Revolution.
So when I came across this quote, from the early idealistic days of UK socialism, it resonated with me.

I’ve certainly long described myself as an activist. But an agitator? Well, yes, that too, I think.
